Microsoft and Lloyd's Register (LR), a classification society with headquarters in the United Kingdom, have partnered to improve the use of nuclear technology in the marine industry through the use of generative AI. In an effort to integrate nuclear applications on land and at sea, the collaboration will use Microsoft's Azure OpenAI Service to expedite the nuclear technology regulatory process. By examining past nuclear licencing data, Azure's generative AI capabilities are intended to speed up the production of new licensing documents.
