Glosten engaged by CORE POWER to work on FNPP design and CONOPS

30 Jan 2025

A barge-based nuclear power plant, barge support services, electrical grid connectivity, and operating teams are all part of Core Power's floating nuclear power plant (FNPP) idea for a nearshore infrastructure system. An estimated 175 GWh of clean electricity will be produced annually by the FNPP, which is portable and can be quickly deployed. According to the report, ports will be able to generate electricity for visiting ships, terminal cranes and equipment, and port vehicles with zero emissions thanks to the FNPP connection.

Glosten, based in Seattle, will design the floating facility, handle site location approvals, set up a regulatory path for the barge, and find a possible supply chain network for the fabrication, integration, integration, transportation, and installation of the FNPP.
