Based in the Netherlands and with roots dating back to 1849, Feadship is recognised as the world leader in the field of pure custom superyachts.

Feadship’s energy transition roadmap was launched in 2020, which defines the shipyard’s pioneering path toward carbon-neutral yachting. Milestones already achieved include next-generation multi-fuel systems and the integration of fuel cell technology, demonstrating both technical readiness and long-term ambition. For Feadship, maintaining an open perspective on transformative technologies is essential to future-proof superyachting.

Through dedicated R&D, Feadship has explored the potential of nuclear propulsion for yachts, examining the technological, regulatory, and operational implications. While economic and crew-related challenges remain considerable, the absence of clear regulation remains the primary barrier to adoption. Issues such as radiation dose limits, operational freedom in sensitive ecological zones, and access to densely populated harbours must be addressed before nuclear systems can realistically play a role in yachting.
